Discover the spirit of Genoa

Genoa, a port and a gateway between worlds, is a mosaic of cultures where history tells a story of encounters and coexistence that shaped the face of “La Superba.”
From the history of the Jewish community and the 17th-century Ghetto, we will move through the sites that bear the marks of the historic presence of North Africa and the Middle East. We will discover how the city’s wealth was also forged by commercial and artistic exchanges with the Flemish people, whose footprints are still visible among the noble palaces and the caruggi (narrow alleys).
Today, just as in the past, Genoa continues to reinvent itself. We will see how this international vocation lives on in the contemporary city, amidst new sounds, scents, and faces that make the historic center a constantly evolving mosaic of cultures.
The entire guided tour takes place outdoors and does not include additional costs or paid entrance fees.
Upon request, I can assist with reservations and help to organize a visit inside the Genoa Synagogue (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and religious or public holidays).
The tour is accessible to wheelchair users. However, please note that Genoa’s historic center features irregular paving and some uphill sections, which may make mobility more challenging.
