Genoa is a song

This tour is designed for those interested in Italian literature and music, and for students of the Italian language.

Genoa has inspired many writers, including Paul Valéry, Anton Chekhov, Marina Tsvetaeva, Edmondo De Amicis, Eugenio Montale, and Giorgio Caproni. During this walk, we will see how every alley hides a literary reference. The journey ends with the “Genoese School” of songwriters. We will talk about the elegance of Gino Paoli and the songs of Fabrizio De André. I share the same name as the latter, along with a typical Genoese reserved nature. We will also touch upon the vitality of young artists who reinterpret these spaces today, allowing us to experience Genoa by listening to it as if it were a song or a sonata by Niccolò Paganini, the legendary 19th-century Genoese violinist.
